The experience
Devon Hideaways offers a collection of charming holiday cottages across the county, from countryside boltholes to stylish coastal escapes, selected to showcase the best of their locations. Among them is Dipple Mill Cottage, set in 27 acres of countryside a short walk from the banks of the River Torridge, close to the North Devon coast. It’s within easy reach of attractions like Clovelly, a picturesque former fishing village; Buck’s Mills, another small community, perched atop cliffs overlooking the sea; and the wide, wild beach of Saunton Sands, a popular surfing spot.
Accessible via a quiet lane, the rustic cottage has two bedrooms sleeping four, a lounge with a wood-burning stove and a south-facing garden with a patio for al fresco dining. Keep an eye out for the deer and rabbits that like to visit the grounds during the day, and look to the sky on clear nights for a spot of stargazing.
The prize
Courtesy of Devon Hideaways, the winner and up to three guests will receive a four-night stay at Dipple Mill Cottage on a self-catering basis. The prize is valid from October 2025 to March 2026; blackout dates apply (24-31 October 2025; 19 December 2025 to 5 January 2026; 13-23 February 2026; and 27 March to 1 April 2026). The stay must be booked at least 30 days in advance.
