Experience Robin Trower at The Wellmont Theater on Saturday, September 26th! Even now, as he reaches his eighth decade, with a lifetime of accolades and a seminal body of music behind him, Robin Trower is still chasing the biggest high he knows. It always starts the same way, with a road-scuffed Fender Stratocaster and a revved-up Marshall amplifier, those skilful fingers exploring the fretboard until a riff sticks and a new song ignites. And from the cultural flashpoint of Sixties London with Procol Harum, through 1974’s stadium-filling Bridge Of Sighs, right up to this year’s acclaimed Come And Find Me, it’s these addictive moments of creation that have kept the guitarist vital, relevant and contemporary while his peers trade on past glories. Experience Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm at The Wellmont Theater on Monday, July 13th! Following the release of the much-acclaimed EP Who We Are in 2013, alternative rock group Flyleaf announced its intention to return with a full-length album in 2014. The sheer energy and haunting lyricism of the album echoed qualities of past Flyleaf tours, in which the band fused a unique melodic element with a hard rock feel. Flyleaf’s energetic presence on stage is contagious with guitarists Jared Hartmann and Sameer Bhattacharya dancing as they strum. The release of Who We Are marked the first major achievements since the step-down of original lead vocalist Lacey Sturm. Immediately following Sturm’s departure, new female vocalist Kristen May impressed with her stunning voice and obvious passion, qualities essential in assisting the entire band in the lead-up to its first Kristen May-focused album and associated tour. Flyleaf began as Passerby, a collaboration between Lacey Sturm and James Culpepper. After joining forces with Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann, the group performed in concerts throughout Texas, eliciting the majority of their ticket purchases from Christian fans bored with the traditional religious music scene. Even with clear demographic trends and frequent allusions to faith in their lyrics, members of Flyleaf refer to themselves not as a Christian rock band, but as members of a rock band who happen to be Christians. Since christening itself Flyleaf in 2004, the band has experienced success in the mainstream music industry, most notably landing on Top 40 radio stations with the single “All Around Me.” Subsequent successes have included the release of a second full-length album, Memento Mori, as well as headlining the 2010 Unite & Fight Tour. The band may see a future transition into a less faith-based approach, as Kristen May expressed a desire to take a different route. PLEASE ENTER WITH YOUR FULL NAME AS SHOWN ON YOUR GOVERNMENT ID. Experience The Fab Faux at The Wellmont Theater on Saturday, June 13th! With a commitment to the accurate reproduction of The Beatles’ repertoire, The Fab Faux, featuring Jimmy Vivino, Rich Pagano, Frank Agnello, Jack Petruzzelli and new member, Jim Boggia treat the seminal music with unwavering respect and are known for their painstaking recreations of the songs (with emphasis on the later works never performed live by the Beatles). Far beyond a cover band, they play the music of The Beatles so impeccably that one must experience it to believe it. Imagine hearing complex material like Strawberry Fields Forever or I Am the Walrus performed in complete part-perfect renditions; or such harmony-driven songs as Because, Nowhere Man and Paperback Writer. Add to that an injection of each band member’s musical personality and playing style making your classic rock record collection come alive before you. For over 25 years, loyal audiences have been returning to see and hear just how The Fab Faux will solve a new song addition to the set list (Beatles and Solo Years selections) while either singing along to Hey Jude (with The Hogshead Horns and The Creme Tangerine Strings), closing their eyes and immersing themselves in the sonic landscape of Within You Without You (Jimmy V on sitar) or dancing in the aisles when the core band channels the Cavern Club era. Experience Lorna Shore at The Wellmont Theater on Friday, May 22nd! A punishing deathcore unit based out of Warren County, New Jersey, Lorna Shore blends elements of tech, blackened thrash, and metalcore into a breakdown-laden aural assault with symphonic intensity and emotional depth.
